In another incident, another tourist was referred from JVC Bemina to SKIMS Soura after he reportedly lost consciousness. This tourist was residing in a hotel located in the Hyderpora area of Srinagar. Upon reaching SKIMS Soura, medical staff declared him deceased. Officials have initiated the necessary medico-legal procedures in both cases to determine the precise cause of death.
Moreover, a CRPF jawan from the 44 Battalion passed away due to a suspected heart attack during the night in the HMT area of Srinagar. The deceased was Head Constable Hari Nath of the 44 Battalion. He had complained of discomfort during the night and was later discovered unresponsive in his room.
Initial assessments indicate that the cause of death was likely a sudden heart attack. However, officials confirmed that all required legal and medical procedures are being followed to determine the exact cause.
A 32-year-old individual succumbed to suspected suffocation after sleeping in his car with the heater running while waiting outside the District Hospital in Kulgam, where his wife was admitted. Officials stated that the man, a Kulgam resident, had parked his car near the hospital and slept inside it overnight to keep warm. The continuous use of the heater in the enclosed vehicle reportedly led to suffocation.
He was later found unconscious in the vehicle and transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. His body has since been sent for medico-legal procedures. The deceased was identified as Mashooq Ahmad Mir, aged 32, son of Mohammad Yousuf Mir, from the Kulpora region of Kulgam.
Additionally, an incident occurred in which 10 individuals were injured following the sudden collapse of a two-story residential house during a condolence gathering at Chandergir village in the Hajin area of Bandipora district.
Officials reported that the incident transpired while a large number of mourners had gathered at the home to pay their respects after the death of the house owner.
Preliminary assessments suggest that the significant number of people inside the house placed excessive load on the structure, causing it to collapse suddenly. The occurrence triggered panic among the mourners, with several individuals becoming trapped under the debris before rescue efforts commenced. The Station House Officer (SHO) confirmed that a total of ten people sustained injuries in this incident.
Five of the injured were transported to the health center in Hajin, while the other five were taken to the hospital at Safapora for treatment. Fortunately, all injured individuals are reported to be stable.
