Mangaluru, July 7 (NationPress) - A tragic event unfolded in the Mangaluru district of Karnataka on Monday, where a jilted lover fatally attacked his former partner before taking his own life.

The victim has been named as Sudheer, a 30-year-old resident of Kodmal village. His ex-lover, Divya Yane, is currently hospitalized due to stab wounds.

This incident transpired in Maripalla, located in the Bantwal taluk of Mangaluru district. As per police reports, Sudheer and Divya had been involved in a relationship for eight years but had recently encountered serious issues.

On that fateful day, Sudheer visited Divya's home and confronted her. During the confrontation, he allegedly pressured her to marry him, and upon her refusal, he stabbed her.

Divya lost consciousness and fell to the ground. Believing she had died, Sudheer then hanged himself using a rope inside her home.
