Bengaluru, Jan 17 (NationPress) A jilted lover has been apprehended and placed under judicial custody for the act of stabbing a paramedical technician who declined his marriage proposal in the J. J. Nagar area of Bengaluru.

DCP (West) S. Girish stated that the suspect, a 29-year-old identified as Ajay, has been charged under Section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).

Ajay and the 23-year-old victim had been in a relationship but had since separated. Despite this, Ajay persisted in requesting that they resume their relationship.

When the woman consistently ignored his advances and firmly rejected his proposal, Ajay attacked her on January 12, according to DCP Girish.

The police apprehended Ajay on January 14 and brought him before the court.

He has been incarcerated, while the victim has recovered from her injuries and returned home after receiving treatment at the hospital, as per the DCP.

The mother of the victim filed a police report, detailing that years prior, Ajay had kidnapped her daughter, resulting in a complaint at the Cottonpet police station at that time. Ajay had been arrested and served a two-year prison sentence.

After his release, Ajay initially refrained from contacting the victim, but two years ago, he began calling her again. The girl’s parents visited Ajay’s home to warn him against harassing their daughter, yet he persisted in threatening her, both via phone and in public.

On January 12, as the victim was en route to her aunt’s house, Ajay forcibly pushed her to the ground and assaulted her with a knife. Although he attempted to stab her multiple times, the victim managed to escape.

When bystanders gathered, the assailant fled the scene. The onlookers promptly took the victim to a hospital for medical care.

The victim is employed as a paramedical technician in an operating room, while her mother works as cleaning staff at a public toilet. Ongoing investigations are in progress.
