Bengaluru, June 9 (NationPress) Following the recent shocking murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi in Meghalaya, another distressing event has emerged from Bengaluru. A software engineer was arrested for fatally stabbing his married lover 17 times after she became less available due to her husband's growing suspicions.
The grim episode unfolded in a hotel room situated in the Poornaprajna Layout, falling under the jurisdiction of the Subramanyapura police station, according to law enforcement officials.
The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Harini, while the alleged perpetrator is 25-year-old Yashas, also a tech professional.
Authorities revealed that Harini was married and a mother of two, engaged in an extramarital relationship with Yashas.
Investigations indicated that Harini and Yashas met at an event, exchanged contact information, and their relationship quickly escalated to physical intimacy. However, Harini's husband, suspecting her infidelity, confiscated her phone and limited her movements.
After months of confinement, Harini managed to leave her home and reached out to Yashas. Distressed by their separation, Yashas made the decision to murder her. On June 6, they arranged to meet at the hotel.
During their encounter, after becoming intimate, Yashas viciously stabbed her multiple times before fleeing the scene.
Following the incident, police initiated an investigation and apprehended Yashas.
In a confession, Yashas admitted to killing Harini because she had been distancing herself from him.
Authorities reported that Harini's body was found in a state of undress, with stab wounds to her neck, chest, abdomen, and other areas. Afterward, Yashas attempted suicide by injuring himself but ultimately surrendered to the police.
DCP Lokesh B. Jagalasar stated that the murder stemmed from Yashas's inability to accept that Harini was trying to end their relationship. It was revealed that Yashas had meticulously planned the act, even purchasing a knife beforehand.
The two had been acquainted through a mutual friend and had been involved for about a year.
This incident is reminiscent of previous shocking cases, including the arrest of Suchana Seth, a CEO accused of murdering her son, which caused widespread outrage.
In another case, a 31-year-old engineer took his own life after killing his young daughter, highlighting the disturbing trend of familial violence.
Additionally, in November 2022, a 45-year-old software engineer was arrested after allegedly murdering his daughter due to financial struggles.
