Bengaluru, Oct 4 (NationPress) A married woman, distraught over the perceived 'betrayal' by her lover, reportedly took her own life in Bengaluru, according to police on Saturday.
The woman was identified as 38-year-old Yashoda. The tragic event took place at the 'Oyo Champion Comforts' lodge in the Agrahara Dasarahalli neighborhood.
As per police reports, Yashoda, a mother of two, had been involved with a man named Vishwanath for eight years.
She had also introduced Vishwanath to a friend, another married woman.
Subsequently, Vishwanath formed a relationship with her friend and checked into the hotel with her. When Yashoda discovered this, she went to the same hotel and booked a room adjacent to theirs.
Police stated that Yashoda knocked on Vishwanath's door, but he refused to let her in.
After Vishwanath alerted the hotel staff, an argument ensued. Tragically, Yashoda later took her life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her lodge room.
The Magadi Road Police have opened an investigation into the incident.
In a separate case, police uncovered a human skeleton in an under-construction apartment within the Kothanur police station area in Bengaluru on Saturday.
The skeleton was discovered on the fourth floor of Block C in 'Samruddhi Apartment.' Initial assessments indicate that the remains belong to a male aged between 35 and 40 years.
The discovery was made when a security guard noticed the skeleton while cleaning. Police suspect the death occurred roughly 10 months ago. The remains were mostly decomposed, with the deceased found clothed in a shirt and trousers, lying on the floor.
Authorities suspect it may be a suicide, though foul play has not been entirely ruled out. Efforts are ongoing to determine the man's identity.
A team of Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO), along with forensic experts, visited the site.
The apartment is owned by Sridhar. Construction had been stalled for several years due to legal issues and was only recently resumed, according to police.
