Ajmer, Jan 30 (NationPress) Saloni Bai, a prominent leader of the transgender community, expressed her appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, noting that his initiatives have significantly improved the security, respect, and recognition of the transgender populace. She highlighted that the community has benefited from the Prime Minister's dedication and the measures he has implemented.
"Our community continuously prays for PM Modi's health and happiness, hoping he persists in his efforts for the nation's advancement," she remarked.
During the concluding session of the 17th Lok Sabha in February 2024, Prime Minister Modi took the opportunity to highlight various accomplishments of his administration. He emphasized the extensive efforts undertaken to assist marginalized groups, particularly the transgender community, which has long been overlooked.
"Those who have always been marginalized and whose welfare was ignored are now acknowledged by the government. During the Covid pandemic, the provision of free vaccinations instilled confidence in individuals... No one should feel abandoned," the Prime Minister stated in Hindi during his Lok Sabha address.
The upcoming All India Kinnar Mahasammelan is scheduled to take place in Ajmer, Rajasthan, from February 16 to 26, with Saloni Bai presiding over the event.
Transgender individuals from across the nation will gather for this significant conference.
Saloni Bai emphasized the importance of this gathering for society, which will include various religious ceremonies, worship, and cultural events.
Numerous traditional rituals will be observed during the Mahasammelan, encompassing Hindu practices such as havan, puja, Kalash Yatra, Chaak Puja, and the preparation of Khichdi.
The preparation of Khichdi will be particularly grand, with it being the initial offering of food.
Moreover, the Sammelan will feature a 'Chhatra' offering ceremony at the Ambe Mata Temple, accompanied by a large procession throughout the city.
Saloni Bai stated that approximately four to four-and-a-half thousand transgender individuals from various regions will participate in this conference.
She views this event as a pivotal moment for the community to gain respect and recognition.
