New Delhi, April 14 (NationPress) On the momentous occasion of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar's birth anniversary, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Rajya Sabha Opposition Leader Mallikarjun Kharge, alongside numerous other dignitaries, paid floral tributes at the Parliament complex.

Among those present were Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rajya Sabha member Ramdas Athawale, and Congress leader Udit Raj, all gathered to honor the Father of the Constitution.

During the ceremony, PM Modi and Kharge engaged in a friendly conversation.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi reflected on Ambedkar's immense contributions to nation-building, calling them inspiring and enduring for future generations.

In a post shared on X, he stated, "Today, we pay homage to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birth anniversary. His commitment to nation-building serves as a powerful motivator. His legacy continues to inspire us to create a just and progressive society."

In a video message, he emphasized, "This day is crucial in our national history—Babasaheb Ambedkar's Jayanti. He was a beacon of resolve and struggled not for personal gain but for the equality of all, particularly for marginalized and Dalit communities. He persevered despite numerous challenges."

PM Modi further remarked, "Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar's legacy will forever be a guiding light for nation-building."

Various Union ministers and political leaders expressed their reverence on social media.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah noted that Ambedkar established the robust framework of Indian democracy by drafting a Constitution that guarantees equal rights and opportunities for every segment of society.

He stated, "Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Ji laid the essential foundations of our democracy, ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all. He firmly opposed Article 370 for the integrity of the nation. His teachings on the importance of education and organization remind us that when our resolve is for the nation's service, no obstacle is insurmountable."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised Ambedkar as a prominent social reformer and essential architect of modern India, highlighting his lifetime dedication to securing equality and justice for the underprivileged.

"Babasaheb devoted his entire existence to promoting equality and harmony. His life was a testament to securing equal rights for marginalized communities. He was also a profound thinker and the architect behind many institutions of our nation. Despite severe challenges, he achieved remarkable feats and made a lasting impact on nation-building," he added.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was born on this date in 1891 in Mhow (currently Dr. Ambedkar Nagar), Madhya Pradesh.

He was an esteemed Indian jurist, economist, and social reformer, instrumental in drafting the Indian Constitution. His life was dedicated to combating caste discrimination and advocating for equality and social justice in India.
