What Tributes Were Paid to Telangana Ideologue Jayashankar on His Birth Anniversary?

Hyderabad, Aug 6 (NationPress) Heartfelt tributes were paid to Telangana ideologue K. Jayashankar on his birth anniversary this Wednesday.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with state ministers and leaders from Congress, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), reflected on the pivotal role the former vice-chancellor of Kakatiya University played in the Telangana movement.

Various programmes across the state saw public representatives and officials honoring the late leader.

On this significant occasion, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized that the entire Telangana community will remember Jayashankar, affectionately referred to as 'Sir', for his sacrifices in the quest for a separate Telangana state.

As the father of Telangana is commemorated, the Chief Minister acknowledged Jayashankar's relentless efforts and service aimed at realizing the dreams of the Telangana populace for statehood.

Jayashankar's commitment to the concept of a self-governing state was unwavering, the Chief Minister noted.

He further remarked that Jayashankar dedicated his life to inspiring the movement for Telangana and igniting the passion for a separate state among millions.

The Chief Minister praised Jayashankar for investing six decades into the cause of Telangana and keeping the movement alive.

“Jayashankar sir was the only leader who demonstrated through statistics how the Telangana region and its people suffered under united Andhra Pradesh,” he stated.

He asserted that the people's government will embody Jayashankar Sir's fighting spirit while striving to fulfill his aspirations.

BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao also paid homage to Jayashankar, describing him as the guiding light of the Telangana movement, who lived with the ambition of achieving statehood as his very essence.

“Professor Jayashankar Sir, a remarkable figure who devoted his life to promoting the ideology of Telangana. As the charioteer of the second phase of the Telangana movement, he steadfastly supported KCR Garu, fighting relentlessly to realize the dream of Telangana statehood,” Rama Rao posted on 'X'.

“In these challenging times, it is more crucial than ever to pass on Professor Jayashankar Sir's fighting spirit and principles to future generations to safeguard Telangana's dignity. We hope all Telangana activists remain unwavering in this mission,” he added.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, remarked that Telangana ideologue Jayashankar devoted his entire life to the state. “His legacy of sacrifice tirelessly championed Telangana until his last breath. He was a beacon of consciousness who, with unwavering zeal, led the Telangana movement toward statehood,” the BJP leader shared on 'X'.

K. Kavitha, president of Telangana Jagruthi, offered her tributes, stating that Professor Jayashankar, a brilliant intellect, ignited the awareness of injustices faced by Telangana.

“There was no region he did not reach in his quest to liberate Mother Telangana from colonial shackles. He yearned for Telangana, rich in resources, to rise from a state of dependency to one of authority. His contributions during the second phase of the Telangana movement, guiding KCR Garu, will always be cherished,” she expressed.
