Kolkata, Dec 27 (NationPress) On Saturday, the Trinamool Congress revealed a fresh slogan for the party as it gears up for the vital upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections next year.
The slogan, “Jotoi Koro Hamla, Abar Jitbe Bangla” (Regardless of the attacks, Bengal will triumph once more), was shared via the party's official X account on Saturday evening. This announcement followed a media interaction where the Trinamool Congress general secretary launched a pointed critique against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Union government, and the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Alongside the slogan, the party presented a background logo that features images of Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
According to the Trinamool Congress, “The new slogan and its logo embody the dissatisfaction and grievances of the everyday people against the BJP and the Union government,” as stated in their social media post.
Creating slogans prior to elections has been a consistent practice for the Trinamool Congress since the 2021 West Bengal Assembly polls. In that election, the party campaigned under the slogan “Bangla Nijer Meyekei Chai” (Bengal seeks its own daughter), presenting Mamata Banerjee as the Chief Ministerial candidate.
For the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, they adopted the slogan “Jonogoner Gorjon, Banglay BJPer Bisorjon” (The people's roar will result in the BJP's exit from Bengal).
Commenting on the new slogan for the 2026 Assembly polls, a senior leader of the Trinamool Congress remarked that it originated from Abhishek Banerjee and is designed to counter the BJP's slogan “Bangla Bachte Chai, BJP Tai” (To save Bengal, people want the BJP).
“The logo and slogan articulate the collective indignation of the populace in West Bengal against exploitation, humiliation, intimidation, and oppression. They amplify the people's spontaneous call to bid farewell to the BJP,” the party leader concluded.
