Kolkata, Oct 25 (NationPress) The Trinamool Congress has scheduled a meeting for its disciplinary committee next week to address the actions of rebel leaders openly criticizing the party leadership. According to sources within the Trinamool Congress, discussions will focus on party member Humayun Kabir and his contentious remarks about the party.
Before this gathering, the committee members plan to consult with Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee. Reports indicate that senior party leader Sovandev Chattopadhyay is already liaising with the committee members. Although the meeting is set for next week, the specific date has not yet been determined.
Recently, the Trinamool Congress MLA from Bharatpur in the Murshidabad district has been vocally criticizing party leaders, particularly targeting the Murshidabad district president Apurba Sarkar.
He has issued threats to expose those in political positions throughout the district, claiming their photographs will be publicly displayed. Following that, he issued a challenge to the party, stating, "Let me be expelled from the party. I want to leave. Then I will explain the kind of politics prevailing in the district."
Kabir also accused Sarkar of being involved in the arrest of another Trinamool Congress MLA, Jiban Krishna Saha, by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a cash-for-jobs scandal.
"I have information and I will share it at the right time. I will tell you how this district president influenced the arrest of Jiban Krishna Saha through his father, Bishwanath Saha," he claimed.
It is also worth noting that he has previously criticized Baharampur Trinamool Congress MP Yusuf Pathan.
Kabir has been reprimanded multiple times by the Trinamool Congress leadership and has even received show-cause notices for his public statements that have embarrassed the party. Nevertheless, he has continued to voice his opinions.
