Agartala, Sep 9 (NationPress) Following a generous contribution of Rs 5 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund of Himachal Pradesh, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha along with other party leaders, on Tuesday, initiated the dispatch of five vehicles filled with relief supplies estimated at nearly Rs 50 lakh for the flood-affected region.
The five trucks loaded with essential aid departed from New Delhi toward Himachal Pradesh, with Tripura Chief Minister Saha, Tripura BJP Vice-President Subal Bhowmik, state General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, and other leaders virtually flagging off the convoy from Agartala.
In a message shared on his official X account, Chief Minister Saha remarked: "In this challenging period, the Tripura Pradesh BJP stands united with the flood-impacted citizens of Himachal Pradesh. Today, I have flagged off relief supplies on behalf of the Pradesh BJP to support those affected by the catastrophic floods."
During the event at the State BJP headquarters in Agartala, Chief Minister Saha recalled the devastating floods that struck Tripura last year, expressing that the state fully comprehends the anguish and distress faced by the people of Himachal Pradesh.
He stated, "From the government's perspective, we have donated Rs 5 crore to Himachal's CM Relief Fund. Additionally, the party must also step up to offer assistance. Guided by the principle of 'Seva Hi Dharm, Seva Hi Sangathan', we are dispatching relief supplies worth approximately Rs 45 to 50 lakh, which include blankets and medicines."
The Chief Minister noted that State BJP President and Rajya Sabha member Rajib Bhattacharjee is currently in New Delhi to oversee the dispatch of these five vehicles.
He emphasized that this initiative exemplifies the spirit of solidarity that defines India, remembering the nationwide support received by Tripura during its crisis last year.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Saha reiterated that both the state government and the BJP are dedicated to operating under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President J.P. Nadda during times of crisis.
In an earlier post on X, he expressed, "The recent devastating floods have inflicted significant damage in Himachal Pradesh. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families who have lost their loved ones."
