Agartala, April 4 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, on Saturday encouraged residents to avoid being swayed by parties disseminating “misleading information” and invited supporters from opposing factions to align with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) while they still have the opportunity.
Saha emphasized that the populace is prepared to establish a “triple-engine government” within the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
The 30-member TTAADC, which consists of 28 elected representatives and two government-nominated members, is set to hold elections on April 12.
During an election rally at the Ganganagar-Gandachhara constituency in Dhalai district, he stated: “We all must work together to create a new Tripura.”
Saha noted that public trust and faith in PM Modi have significantly grown.
“Everywhere I go, individuals are rallying under the BJP banner. This rally also welcomed 710 voters from 251 families into our party. I commend them for making a timely and correct choice,” he mentioned.
He further urged those connected with the Tipra Motha Party (TMP) and other factions, particularly the youth, to stay on the right path.
“Those associated with TMP or other parties, especially the youth, must not stray. Our double-engine government is progressing towards the goals set for 2047. Those spreading falsehoods and leading people astray should not be followed. Join the BJP while you can,” he asserted.
Since March 7, 2024, TMP has been a junior ally of the ruling BJP, with two of its MLAs, Animesh Debbarma and Brishaketu Debbarma, included in the cabinet led by Chief Minister Saha.
Saha remarked that the Prime Minister has discussed building a “New India,” adding that the state is striving to create a “New Tripura.”
“We aim to establish a new Tripura through collective efforts. Development must reach every community, including various castes, tribes, and Manipuri minorities, with improved infrastructure. Only then can we realize a new Tripura and contribute to a developed India,” he explained.
He asserted that the BJP symbolizes progress, while accusing other parties of inciting unrest and violence.
“The people desire peace and do not want chaos. Let’s distance ourselves from parties that foster unrest while we still can. Our goal is to reach all through development,” he said.
Highlighting the leadership of PM Modi, Saha noted that the landscape of politics in India has transformed since 2014. He also mentioned the Prime Minister’s Mann Ki Baat program as a distinctive method of engaging with citizens.
The Chief Minister criticized opposition parties, including the Communist Party of India (Marxist), accusing them of corruption and negligence during their tenure.
“In Tripura, during the 35-year rule of the communists, we witnessed corruption. Our tribal brothers and sisters, who are inherently good-natured, have had their development overlooked. Currently, those governing the ADC are also engaged in corrupt practices,” he said.
He added that the BJP is contesting all 28 seats in the ADC elections for the first time and aims to achieve a decisive victory.
“In the forthcoming ADC elections, the public is ready to ensure the BJP's success in all 28 seats, thereby forming a triple-engine government. The ground beneath regional parties is eroding, leaving them in despondency,” he claimed.
Former MP Rebati Tripura, BJP Janajati Morcha President Parimal Debbarma, and other leaders were present at the rally.
