Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha was among the first to congratulate the winning organisation. In a post on social media platform X, Chadha said: 'Heartiest congratulations to ABVP on its impressive performance in the 2026 DUSU elections. The result reflects the trust Delhi University's students have placed in constructive politics rooted in nation-first, student-centric leadership.'

Chadha also acknowledged the grassroots effort behind the win, adding: 'Congratulations to every ABVP karyakarta whose tireless work across the University made this victory possible.' He further noted that a strong voter turnout had given the newly elected team a clear responsibility to address students' concerns and aspirations.

Amit Shah's Sharper Political Message

Union Home Minister Amit Shah went further in his interpretation of the result. In a post on X, Shah described Delhi University as a national institution where students arrive 'from every corner of the country', and called the DUSU mandate 'a reflection of the sentiments of the youth across all of India.'

Shah characterised the ABVP's performance as a direct rebuke of what he termed anti-national forces. 'Today's splendid victory for ABVP is a clear message to those anti-national forces who want to turn the youth power into a laboratory for their anti-national agenda,' he said. He added that the result demonstrated Indian youth standing 'firmly with the ideology of Nation First.'

Congratulating ABVP workers, Shah asserted: 'This victory reflects the unwavering faith of the youth in the ABVP's ideology of Nation First and its commitment to student welfare.' He also invoked Swami Vivekananda, expressing confidence that ABVP workers would 'continue to advance the cause of student interests and nation-building relentlessly.'

Context: DUSU as Political Bellwether

The Delhi University Students' Union election is widely regarded as one of India's most politically watched campus polls, given the university's size and national reach.
