Guwahati, Feb 25 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the Advantage Assam Summit in Guwahati on Tuesday, emphasized India's escalating global stature, resilient economic strategies, and the swift progress of the state under the double engine governance of the BJP.
PM Modi noted that numerous global experts share a singular belief: India's rapid advancement. He remarked that there exists a substantial basis for this confidence in India.
"Today's India is making consistent strides, operating on a grand scale, with a long-term vision for the 21st century over the next 25 years... The world today trusts India's youthful population that is quickly acquiring skills. The world trusts India's neo-middle class that is emerging from poverty and reaching for new heights... The world trusts India's 1.4 billion people who are backing political stability and policy consistency. Today, the world trusts India's governance that is perpetually reforming... The reforms instituted by the government are fortifying India's standing on the global platform," the PM declared.
Touching upon India’s growing global trade relationships, PM Modi highlighted the nation's involvement in Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with various countries. He asserted that the increasing global confidence in India reflects its robust governance and economic policies.
"The trust the world has in India is steadily rising. This is the reason we have all convened today in the land of Maa Kamakhya to celebrate the potential that Assam possesses," the Prime Minister stated.
He pointed out Assam’s impressive progress since the inaugural Advantage Assam summit in 2018.
He attributed the achievements to the BJP-led government’s unwavering commitment to infrastructure growth, connectivity, and industrial advancement.
Highlighting significant developments, PM Modi discussed the improved transportation frameworks, especially in the aviation and railway sectors.
He mentioned, "In 2014, Assam had merely seven flight routes; today, it features 30 routes, greatly enhancing air connectivity. The launch of a high-speed train from Guwahati to New Jalpaiguri signifies a breakthrough in railway modernization. Assam's river connectivity has also been significantly upgraded; while the Brahmaputra previously had only three bridges, four new bridges have been constructed in the last decade."
PM Modi praised Assam’s increasing role in India’s overall development. He reiterated that institutional reforms, industrial strategies, and a business-friendly climate are paving the way for the state’s promising future.
