The Prime Minister will arrive in Guwahati on February 24 in the evening and will first attend the Jhumoir Binandini (Mega Jhumoir) 2025 event at around 6 p.m.
On the following day, February 25, PM Modi will officially open Advantage Assam 2.0, which will run from February 25 to 26, starting at approximately 10:45 a.m.
This summit will feature an inaugural session, seven ministerial discussions, and 14 thematic sessions, along with a detailed exhibition showcasing the state’s economic landscape, emphasizing its industrial growth, global trade collaborations, flourishing industries, and the dynamic MSME sector, with participation from over 240 exhibitors.
Various international organizations, global leaders, investors, policymakers, industry specialists, startups, and students are expected to attend the summit.
The primary objective of Advantage Assam 2.0, which marks the second edition of this international investor summit since its inception in 2018, is to enhance infrastructure development and attract investment to the state.
This two-day event is anticipated to attract investors from across India and beyond, reinforcing Assam’s reputation as a burgeoning investment hub in the country.
Simultaneously, preparations are in full swing for the Jhumoir Binandini (Mega Jhumoir) 2025, a grand cultural celebration. Approximately 8,000 performers will take part in the Jhumoir dance, a traditional dance of the Assam Tea Tribe and Adivasi Communities, symbolizing inclusivity, unity, and cultural pride and representing Assam’s rich cultural tapestry. The Mega Jhumoir event commemorates 200 years of the tea industry and 200 years of industrialization in Assam.
Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated, “We will ensure flawless execution through master training workshops, constituency-level sessions, district-level performances, and final rehearsals in Guwahati.”
The concert, scheduled for either day of the summit, is expected to leave a lasting impression on attendees. This initiative follows Assam setting a Guinness World Record for the largest Bihu dance performance.
