PM Modi will touch down in Guwahati in the evening and will participate in the Jhumur dance program to highlight the culture of the tea tribes of the region at the Sarusajai stadium.

The state government is aiming for a Guinness World Record through this cultural showcase. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated, “A stunning Jhumur dance performance featuring over 7,500 dancers and artists will be included in the event. It promises to be an extraordinary spectacle.”

Preparations for this cultural celebration are in full swing. CM Sarma earlier mentioned, “Optimal execution will be guaranteed through master training workshops, constituency-level sessions, district-level performances, and final rehearsals in Guwahati.”

This initiative follows Assam's achievement of a Guinness World Record for the largest Bihu dance performance.

The investment summit, Advantage Assam 2.0, is scheduled for February 25 and 26 in Guwahati.

CM Sarma previously noted, “This summit serves as a platform to present Assam's rich cultural heritage to a global audience while also attracting potential investors.”

The objective of Advantage Assam 2.0, the second international investor summit since its launch in 2018, is to enhance infrastructure development and investment opportunities in the state.

This two-day event is expected to attract investors from across India and worldwide, bolstering Assam’s reputation as an emerging investment hub in the country.

In the meantime, the state government has approved MoUs worth Rs 1,22,000 crore to be signed during the event. This decision was made during a cabinet meeting held in Dispur on Sunday.

CM Sarma stated, “The state cabinet has resolved to sign MoUs totaling Rs 1,12,000 crore during the two-day summit. The cabinet also dismissed MoU proposals amounting to Rs 45,000 crore that did not meet our policy standards.”

According to the Chief Minister, some of the MoUs will generate substantial investments, while others are designed to create employment opportunities for the youth.
