Guwahati, Jan 16 (NationPress) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Thursday that the Industry and Commerce Minister Bimal Borah is currently in Dubai to investigate the state's vast potential ahead of the upcoming investment and infrastructure summit ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’.
“My colleague Shri @BimalBorah119 is in Dubai to invite investors to explore the vast potential of Assam during the #AdvantageAssam2 Summit and to witness the record-setting Jhumur performance this February,” Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on X.
Sarma emphasized that the summit aims to attract more investment to the state, promising increased government job opportunities and support for entrepreneurship for the local populace.
He noted that the event, scheduled for February 25 and 26, will feature the traditional Jhumur dance of the tea tribe clans.
“This summit serves as a platform to showcase Assam's rich traditions to an international audience while drawing in investors,” the Chief Minister stated.
“A magnificent Jhumur dance performance with over 7,500 dancers and artists will be a highlight of the event. It promises to be an extraordinary show,” he added.
Preparations for this cultural showcase are already in motion.
“We will ensure flawless execution through master training workshops, constituency-level sessions, district-level performances, and final rehearsals in Guwahati,” the Chief Minister explained.
Meanwhile, the minister mentioned: “During the roadshow in Dubai today, aside from showcasing Assam's limitless potential at the #AdvantageAssam2 summit, I warmly invited attendees to experience Assam’s vibrant culture and to enjoy the magnificence of our tea tribe community through the Mega Jhumur dance performance.”
