Assam CM Himanta Sarma Extends Invitation to FM Nirmala Sitharaman for Advantage Assam Summit

New Delhi, Dec 6 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, met with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday to extend an invitation for the forthcoming investor summit, titled 'Advantage Assam 2.0'.
In a post on X, CM Sarma expressed, “I had the honor of meeting the esteemed Union Finance Minister Smt @nsitharaman ji in New Delhi today. I am profoundly thankful to her for graciously accepting our invitation to participate in #AdvantageAssam 2025.”
Additionally, the Chief Minister also met Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and invited him to the summit.
“I started the final day of my fruitful visit to Delhi by meeting the honorable Union Minister Shri @sarbanandsonwal dangoriya. It was my pleasure to invite him to #AdvantageAssam 2025 and discuss ongoing initiatives concerning Assam,” the CM shared on X.
Previously, CM Sarma had a discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union Ministers regarding the investor summit. PM Modi has confirmed his participation to inaugurate the summit, which is set for February next year.
Notably, “Advantage Assam 2.0”, the Investment and Infrastructure Summit, aims to showcase Assam’s vibrant cultural heritage on a global platform.
Chief Minister Sarma stated that the event, scheduled for February 24 and 25, will feature the traditional Jhumur dance of the tea tribe clans. He mentioned, “This summit serves as a stage to present Assam's rich traditions to an international audience while attracting investors.”
A magnificent Jhumur dance performance, involving over 7,500 dancers and artists, is planned for the event. The Chief Minister described it as an extraordinary showcase.
Preparations for this cultural celebration are currently underway.
The Chief Minister remarked, “Flawless execution will be guaranteed through specialized training workshops, constituency-level sessions, district-level performances, and final rehearsals in Guwahati.” The concert, intended for either day of the summit, is expected to leave a lasting impression on attendees.
This initiative follows Assam's achievement of a Guinness World Record for the largest Bihu dancing performance.
The aim of Advantage Assam 2.0, the second edition of the international investor summit since its launch in 2018, is to enhance infrastructure development and investment in the state.
The two-day event is projected to attract investors from across India and the globe, further establishing Assam as a prime investment destination in the country.
