New Delhi, Dec 3 (NationPress) In a series of strategic meetings designed to ensure a successful investor summit in Assam scheduled for February of next year, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Union Minister and BJP President J. P. Nadda in the nation’s capital on Tuesday.
During the meeting, CM Sarma extended a formal invitation to Nadda to attend the Advantage Assam 2.0 investor summit, which is set to take place in Guwahati on February 25 and 26 next year.
On the social media platform X, the Chief Minister expressed, “I had the honour to meet Adarniya @BJP4India Adhyaksh and Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @JPNadda Ji in New Delhi today. On behalf of the people of Assam, I invited him to grace the #AdvantageAssam Summit 2025.”
In addition, the two leaders discussed the advancements of various beneficiary programs within the state.
Sarma mentioned, “I also took this opportunity to inform him about the significant progress Assam is making with the implementation of PMJAY, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, and other central initiatives to bolster the healthcare sector,” as stated in his post on X.
Previously, CM Sarma had also reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and others to invite them to the investor summit.
Importantly, “Advantage Assam 2.0,” the forthcoming Investment and Infrastructure Summit, aims to display Assam’s rich cultural heritage on a global platform.
According to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the event will feature the traditional Jhumur dance performed by tea tribe clans.
Sarma stated, “This summit serves as a platform to present Assam's vibrant traditions to an international audience, in addition to attracting potential investors.”
A highlight of the event will be a spectacular Jhumur dance performance featuring over 7,500 dancers and artists, including 32 female and 32 male dancers representing each of Assam's 800+ tea gardens, as confirmed by the Chief Minister.
He emphasized that preparations for this cultural event are in full swing.
The Chief Minister remarked, “We are ensuring flawless execution through master training workshops, constituency-level sessions, district-level performances, and final rehearsals in Guwahati.”
The concert, scheduled for one of the summit days, is expected to leave a lasting impression on attendees.
This initiative follows Assam's achievement of setting a Guinness World Record for the largest Bihu dance performance.
The objective of Advantage Assam 2.0, the second edition of the international investor summit since its inception in 2018, is to enhance infrastructure development and investment in the state.
This two-day event is anticipated to attract investors from across India and the globe, further establishing Assam as a premier investment destination in the country.
