New Delhi, March 7 (NationPress) The recent decision by BJP parliamentarians Dinesh Sharma and Krishna Pal Gurjar to change their official residence address in Lutyens' Delhi has ignited a heated exchange between the Congress and the BJP.

The Congress party labeled this move as yet another effort to create a communal divide, while the BJP dismissed these accusations, emphasizing the new city government’s commitment to the holistic development of the national capital.

Former Congress leader Pramod Krishnam seized the moment to mock Rahul Gandhi.

BJP spokesperson Rohan Gupta stated that the capital has endured significant hardships over the past 26 years due to misrule and misgovernance from various parties, but that will no longer be the case.

“The new BJP government will not only restore the lost glory of the capital but will also honor the rich Sanatan traditions and customs, ensuring that 'vikas and virasat' go hand in hand,” he conveyed to IANS.

Congress MP Imran Masood from Saharanpur criticized the Centre regarding the renaming of Tughlaq lane, accusing it of fostering hatred and polarizing discourse across the nation.

“There is a bloodbath at the stock markets, investors have lost millions, and the youth are struggling, yet the government remains indifferent. Their only focus is on escalating hostility between Hindus and Muslims,” he remarked sharply at the Centre.

Pramod Krishnam, entering the fray, made a 'wisest fool' comment about the Tughlaq dynasty ruler Mohammad Bin Tughluq and also ridiculed Congress for its 'soft corner' for invaders. He further suggested that Rahul Gandhi might feel 'comfortable' living on Tughlaq lane, unlike others.

“Mohammad Bin Tughluq has been labeled the wisest fool in history, a status no other ruler has received. The road named after him symbolizes foolishness,” he stated.

Krishnam added, “It is understandable that Rahul Gandhi could reside there. Any educated and sensible individual would avoid such a place.”

The controversy arose after BJP MPs Dinesh Sharma (from UP) and Krishna Pal Gurjar (from Haryana) modified the address on their nameplates outside their residences. The nameplates displayed Swami Vivekanand Marg with Tughlaq Lane noted underneath in brackets.
