Chennai, Jan 20 (NationPress) Veteran politician and former minister K. A. Sengottaiyan adamantly refuted rumors on Tuesday that he was being sidelined within the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) or considering a shift to the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
Labeling the assertions as groundless and “fake news,” Sengottaiyan described the speculation as both misleading and damaging. He reiterated his steadfast loyalty to TVK president Vijay and the party’s political vision.
In a pointed statement, the TVK leader highlighted his ideological foundations and personal experiences in public service. “I hail from the ideological legacy of Puratchi Thalaivar and Puratchi Thalaivi Amma. During a challenging period in my political journey, it was Thalapathy Vijay who supported, guided, and helped me establish my place in politics. He will always hold an irreplaceable position in my heart,” Sengottaiyan expressed.
Demonstrating complete trust in Vijay’s leadership, the senior politician stated that the party leadership and members were united in their goal to see Vijay take office as Chief Minister in the 2026 Assembly elections.
“With the strength and blessings of the populace, we are collaboratively working to place him in governance. His compassion and dedication are unmatched. He resides in the hearts of the citizens, and under his guidance, both our lives and Tamil Nadu’s future will flourish,” he remarked.
Sengottaiyan also criticized what he termed as irresponsible journalism by certain media outlets. He expressed that the dissemination of unverified and factually inaccurate information was profoundly upsetting. “It is disheartening to witness false narratives in print. Claiming neutrality while propagating misinformation contradicts the essence of journalistic integrity. I condemn this strongly,” he stated.
This rebuttal follows media reports claiming that Sengottaiyan, who serves as the chief coordinator of TVK’s administrative committee, was being marginalized within the party. The rumors suggested that leaders N Anand, Aadhav Arjuna, and Vijay’s advisor, John Arockiyasamy, had limited his role, leading to discontent and speculation about a potential transition to the DMK.
Sengottaiyan’s statement has thoroughly dispelled these rumors.
