Two Bangladeshi Women Detained in West Bengal's Habra

Kolkata, Dec 31 (NationPress) Two unauthorized Bangladeshi female migrants were detained in Habra, situated in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, on Tuesday, as stated by law enforcement authorities.

They had crossed the border illegally and entered Indian territory without the necessary immigration documentation. The police have also seized two counterfeit Indian Aadhaar cards from their belongings, according to an official from the state police.

The identities of the two Bangladeshi infiltrators have been confirmed as Sandhya Roy, aged 43, and Suparna Roy, aged 18.

Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to uncover the motives behind their illegal entry.

In addition, a local resident, Amit Mondal, aged 36, has been apprehended for allegedly providing shelter to these two women.

Mondal is believed to be part of a network involved in facilitating fake Indian identity documents for illegal Bangladeshi migrants.

After questioning Mondal, two more individuals connected to this network were arrested, identified as Matiur Rahaman, Mintu Das, and Sayan Hossain.

All six individuals have been presented before a court in the North 24 Parganas district and are currently in police custody for further questioning.

Since December 15, a total of seven individuals have been arrested for their links to networks that provide fake Indian documents, including fraudulent passports, to Bangladeshi infiltrators.

Investigators have detected a systematic approach employed by these networks to produce fraudulent Indian passports for infiltrators. Any infiltrator who approaches local agents and expresses a willingness to pay substantial sums for fake Indian identity documents is first offered safe accommodations in various villages near the Bangladesh border, both on land and along the coast.

Subsequently, agents arrange for fake ration cards, which serve as the initial step in the creation of other identity documents. Utilizing these counterfeit ration cards, additional identification documents such as EPIC, PAN, and Aadhaar cards are obtained. The final step involves acquiring fake passports based on these other fraudulent identity documents.
