New Delhi, May 16 (NationPress) Congress leader Udit Raj has voiced his unwavering support for SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav's comments regarding caste-based discrimination, sharing that he has also faced such abuse personally.

Raj's statement followed Yadav's controversial remarks, which included references to the castes of certain Defence officials.

Udit Raj fervently defended Yadav, stating, “What Ram Gopal Yadav expressed is accurate. I am experiencing similar challenges. I am all too familiar with the ridicule I face on social media,” Raj remarked.

He launched a pointed critique against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, questioning, “Why is Yogi ji upset? He is, after all, the most prominent casteist.”

The uproar began after the SP leader posted on the social media platform X, mentioning, “If these abusers had known Vyomika Singh is a Jatav and Air Marshal Awadhesh Bharti is a Yadav, they certainly would have targeted these officers too.”

He continued, stating, “In various northern Indian states, especially Uttar Pradesh, false cases are being lodged based on religion, caste, and class. Properties are confiscated, and encounters are carried out due to this bias. Even the postings of officials are determined by these factors.”

These remarks incited harsh backlash from multiple BJP leaders, who called for a public apology from Yadav, accusing him of politicizing the armed forces and sowing division among the populace along caste lines.

Udit Raj also questioned India's strategic approach to Pakistan amidst escalating tensions. “Our Army has performed admirably. However, the pressing question remains, who was operating drones on May 8 and May 9? It was Pakistan, with 36 incursions on May 8 and 26 on May 9. This vast nation of ours allows Pakistan to engage in such provocations,” he stated.

Criticizing the government's management of the situation, he noted, “Yes, we neutralized threats, which is commendable, but currently, Pakistan stands on equal ground with India. You assert we will strike within their territory? When you’re waiting for direction from Trump regarding a ceasefire, what makes you think Pakistan is intimidated?”

He further challenged the government's assertions, saying, “You named it 'Operation Sindoor', which is fine, but you still haven't apprehended the attackers, yet you falsely claim that terrorism has been eradicated.”
