Previously, the government revealed that the number of Aadhaar-based face authentication transactions has surged from 100 crore to 200 crore within a mere six months.
This face authentication enables Aadhaar holders to verify their identity instantly, securely, and without physical documents, anytime and anywhere. On August 10, UIDAI marked a significant milestone of 200 crore face authentication transactions, highlighting India’s swift transition towards seamless, secure, and paperless authentication, according to the IT Ministry.
The growth in adoption has been remarkable, with 50 crore transactions recorded by mid-2024. This number doubled to 100 crore transactions in January 2025 within five months, and less than six months later, it reached the impressive 200 crore milestone, as reported by the ministry.
