This agreement is set to be valid for five years, focusing on significant areas including fraud and anomaly detection, creation of biometric liveness detection tools, identification of high-risk enrolment/update groups, enhancements in biometric matching algorithms, and other key areas mutually agreed upon.

The signing of the agreement was conducted by UIDAI's Deputy Director General, Technology Centre, Tanusree Deb Barma, alongside Prof B. S. On August 10, UIDAI marked a significant milestone of 200 crore face authentication transactions, highlighting India’s swift transition towards seamless, secure, and paperless authentication, according to the IT Ministry.

The growth in adoption has been remarkable, with 50 crore transactions recorded by mid-2024. This number doubled to 100 crore transactions in January 2025 within five months, and less than six months later, it reached the impressive 200 crore milestone, as reported by the ministry.
