Amaravati, July 1 (NationPress) Emphasizing his administration's dedication to fulfilling the 'Super Six' promises, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu revealed on Tuesday that the government is preparing to launch an unemployment allowance.
This announcement was made during the monthly pension distribution event titled 'Service to the Poor' held at Malakapalli in the East Godavari district.
The alliance led by the Telugu Desam Party pledged six significant initiatives under the 'Super Six' during the previous year's elections, including a monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 for every unemployed youth.
The Chief Minister also disclosed that free bus travel for women on APSRTC buses will commence on August 15.
He enumerated the promises executed by his government over the past year, highlighting that through 204 canteens, quality food is being provided to the underprivileged. Additionally, under the Deepam scheme, three free gas cylinders are being distributed.
Naidu stated that under 'Talli Ki Vandanam,' the government has deposited Rs 10,000 crore into the bank accounts of women with children attending schools and colleges.
He claimed that villages are now vibrant and joyful as pensions are distributed promptly on the first of each month. He criticized the former administration for misappropriating pensions meant for the differently-abled.
The Chief Minister visited the residence of Sanamandra Posh Babu, handing over a pension to the leather worker while engaging with the family and addressing their concerns. He also visited Geddam Krishnadurga’s home to deliver a widow's pension, followed by a public address at Praja Vedika.
“Previously, even employees struggled to receive their salaries, and retired workers didn’t get their pensions. However, since our government assumed office, we’ve ensured that pensions are disbursed on the 1st of every month. We fulfilled our electoral commitment by increasing the pension from Rs 2,000 to Rs 4,000,” Naidu stated.
He pointed out that even major states are not providing pensions at this scale, noting, “We are investing Rs 2,750 crore each month on pensions. In comparison, Telangana spends Rs 8,000 crore annually, while Kerala allocates just Rs 7,200 crore.”
Naidu mentioned that the Central government is providing complete support for state development, contributing Rs 15,000 crore for Amaravati and Rs 11,400 crore for the Vizag Steel Plant.
The state government has also signed memoranda of understanding worth Rs 9.5 lakh crore in investments, projected to create 8.5 lakh jobs. Work has commenced on projects valued at Rs 5 lakh crore, which will generate 4.5 lakh jobs, he stated.
Criticizing the previous YSRCP government for not completing the Polavaram project, he asserted that it is his responsibility to complete the project by 2027 and dedicate it to the nation, stressing that no other project in India can manage 50 lakh cusecs of floodwater. He committed to finishing the diaphragm wall by December, noting that while the previous government completed only 4 percent of the work in five years, his administration has achieved 6 percent in one year.
To foster a poverty-free society, Naidu introduced the P4 initiative. “Like many, I come from humble beginnings. With God’s grace, I have ascended step by step, as did Ambedkar, Narendra Modi, NTR, and Pawan Kalyan — all hailing from ordinary families,” he remarked.
Naidu urged the affluent top 10 percent to assist the bottom 20 percent, citing Bill Gates, who donated 99 percent of his wealth to society, and the Vedanta Group, which contributes 75 percent of its profits back to the community.
