Lucknow, July 7 (NationPress) The Uttar Pradesh government is gearing up to initiate a grand plantation campaign on Wednesday, aiming for a significant and historic impact. This green initiative will see the planting of 37 crore saplings throughout every district in the state within just one day.
Ministers from the Yogi Adityanath administration will spearhead the efforts by planting saplings in all 75 districts.
Senior administrative officials have been appointed as district nodal officers, set to arrive in their respective districts by Tuesday to ensure all preparations are in place. The Forest Department is collaborating with various departments and ministries to facilitate a smooth execution of the initiative.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will oversee plantation activities in Ayodhya and Azamgarh, joined by Forest Minister (Independent Charge) Dr. Arun Saxena and Minister of State for Forests KP Malik.
Governor Anandiben Patel will take part in the campaign from Barabanki, accompanied by State Minister Satish Sharma. Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak will plant saplings in Meerut and Lucknow, respectively.
From cabinet ministers to state ministers, all will actively participate in this initiative across the state.
As per the information provided by the government, cabinet minister Suresh Khanna will lead the drive in Shahjahanpur, Surya Pratap Shahi in Ayodhya, and Swatantra Dev Singh in Gorakhpur. Other ministers, including Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi' in Prayagraj, Anil Rajbhar in Azamgarh, Rakesh Sachan in Kanpur Dehat, AK Sharma in Jaunpur, Yogendra Upadhyay in Agra, Dr Sanjay Nishad in Ambedkar Nagar, and Om Prakash Rajbhar in Ghazipur will also lead various segments of the campaign.
Senior officials have been tasked as nodal officers for the Plantation Drive-2025 across several districts.
Principal Secretary M. Devraj will oversee Prayagraj, while Jal Nigam (Rural) MD Dr. Rajshekhar will manage activities in Varanasi. The CEO of Invest UP, Vijay Kiran Anand, is assigned to Jaunpur, and Medical Health Secretary Dr. Pinky Jovel will supervise Mirzapur.
Ayodhya will be managed by Principal Secretary (Irrigation and Water Resources) Anil Garg, Barabanki will be overseen by Basic Education Secretary Sarika Mohan, and Lucknow by Principal Secretary (Medical Health) Parthasarathi Sen Sharma.
To ensure the success of Plantation Drive-2025, officials from the Forest Department are working in tandem with all relevant departments and ministries.
