Lucknow, July 9 (NationPress) Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh made a remarkable achievement on Wednesday with an unprecedented plantation initiative. In alignment with the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0" program, the state successfully planted 37,21,40,925 saplings by 6:06 PM, exceeding the government's ambitious target of 37 crore by a staggering 21,40,925 saplings.
Recognized for his firm approach against crime and compassion for children, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath displays a strong dedication to environmental protection. Realizing the escalating danger of global warming, the state prioritized an extensive afforestation drive this year.
Motivated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal for "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0", the state initiated the Plantation Mega Campaign 2025 on Wednesday. CM Yogi personally inaugurated the campaign in Ayodhya by planting banyan, neem, and peepal trees at Triveni Vatika along the banks of the Saryu River, dedicating them to Lord Shri Ram, Mother Earth, and his own mother.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister launched the Harishankari Vatika in Kerma village near the expressway in Azamgarh’s Sathiyaon block, and also took part in a plantation effort near Chilua Tal at the Gorakhpur fertilizer plant complex.
This extensive campaign covered forest areas, defence and railway lands, gram panchayats, expressways, roadsides, canals, railway tracks, development zones, industrial sites, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and private lands owned by farmers and citizens.
To ensure transparency, the Forest Department monitored the campaign through a real-time Android-based Plantation Monitoring System. Responding to the CM's directive to enhance efforts beyond previous administrations' paper-based approaches, the initiative utilized comprehensive geo-tagging and advanced monitoring technologies.
Expressing his gratitude, CM Yogi remarked, "It is a moment of immense pride and emotion to declare that under the Plantation Mega Campaign 2025, Uttar Pradesh has set a new record by planting over 37 crore saplings in a single day. These numbers symbolize our collective sensitivity, responsibility, and gratitude towards nature."
He extended his heartfelt appreciation to all participants - citizens, public representatives, officials, employees, students, volunteers, farmers, and families - asserting, "You have shown that with pure intentions and determination, no goal is unattainable. This is not merely an accomplishment for Uttar Pradesh but a triumph for India’s environmental awareness. Full credit goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose motivating leadership and visionary ideas have connected us with this emotional and value-driven campaign."
