Upcoming 2025 Space Missions by ISRO: Uncrewed Gaganyaan and GSLV Launches Revealed by Jitendra Singh

New Delhi, Jan 10 (NationPress) ISRO's ambitious plans for 2025 include the uncrewed Gaganyaan and GSLV launches, as stated by Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology.

During a high-level review meeting with outgoing Chairman Dr. S. Somnath, his successor Dr. V. Narayanan, and senior officials such as Pawan Kumar Goenka, Chairman of IN-SPACe, Singh highlighted significant upcoming space missions.

With groundbreaking projects on the horizon, including the inaugural uncrewed orbital mission as part of the Gaganyaan program, India's space exploration initiatives are set for remarkable advancements.

In 2025, major projects in the Indian space sector encompass the Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission, as mentioned by Singh.

The launch of the Gaganyaan uncrewed orbital test mission is a crucial step towards India's human spaceflight agenda. This mission will validate systems that ensure crew safety and recovery.

Additional significant plans include two GSLV missions, a commercial launch of LVM3, and the highly awaited ISRO-NASA collaboration on the NISAR satellite.

In January, the GSLV-F15 mission is set to deploy the NVS-02 navigation satellite, enhancing the NavIC constellation. This will strengthen India's positioning and navigation capabilities through indigenously developed atomic clocks.

In February, the GSLV-F16 mission will launch NISAR, an advanced Earth observation satellite co-developed with NASA, equipped with sophisticated radar imaging technology. NISAR aims to deliver essential data regarding agriculture, natural disasters, and climate monitoring.

In March, the commercial LVM3-M5 mission will facilitate the deployment of BlueBird Block-2 satellites under a contract with the US-based AST SpaceMobile, emphasizing ISRO's rising prominence in the global space market.

Dr. Singh praised ISRO's achievements in promoting innovation and enhancing India's status as a space-faring nation, stating, "Public-private collaboration is crucial for advancing the country’s space ambitions."

Reflecting on his tenure, Dr. S. Somnath expressed confidence in the future missions, while Dr. V. Narayanan presented a strategic roadmap aimed at broadening ISRO’s global presence.
