Dehradun, Dec 7 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, announced on Sunday that the government has implemented rigorous measures to combat social issues such as 'love jihad' and 'spit jihad'.
While addressing attendees at the 18th Amar Shaheed Sainik Mela in the Chamoli district, he stated, “Our government has taken strict and decisive steps to curb social aberrations like 'love jihad' and 'spit jihad'.”
He emphasized that safeguarding the cultural legacy of Devbhoomi remains a top priority, and to ensure its protection, tangible actions are being taken on all fronts.
Moreover, the Chief Minister pointed out that the BJP government has diligently worked to keep its election promise of enforcing a Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
“By delivering on this electoral promise through the implementation of the UCC, Uttarakhand has emerged as the first state in the nation to do so. Our government not only makes announcements; we are committed to demonstrating every promise through our actions,” he remarked.
Paying homage to the soldiers, Chief Minister Dhami noted, “By gathering here, we honor the courageous soldiers. This event holds historical significance in this small region.”
“Through 'Operation Sindoor', India has showcased that our soldiers and domestic weaponry are indeed at par with the world's modern armaments,” he added.
He attributed credit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his unwavering support to the armed forces.
“Witnessing the positive transformations in the military under the esteemed leadership of Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji fills me with great pride. Previously, India relied heavily on foreign nations for defense tools, but now we are among the leading nations exporting such equipment,” he expressed in a post on X.
As a son of an army veteran, he shared, “Visiting this land of valor has rekindled memories of numerous heroic tales shared by my father. The brave sons of Savad village have always dedicated themselves to the nation's defense.”
Highlighting the government’s commitment to enhancing the state’s roadway infrastructure, CM Dhami remarked, “Following the Nanda Raj Jat Yatra, the Gwaldam-Dewal-Wan road will be transitioned from the Public Works Department to the Border Roads Organisation, prioritizing the sentiments and needs of the residents in the Tharali area.”
