New Delhi, March 30 (NationPress) Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized on Sunday that climate change represents a critical challenge for our planet, necessitating a collective approach to tackle this intricate issue.
While serving as the Chief Guest at the concluding session of the National Conference on Environment-2025, organized by the National Green Tribunal, he highlighted that this problem of immense scale requires immediate, urgent, coordinated, and continuous actions.
“Each one of us has the capability to contribute. When these contributions combine, they will yield fruitful outcomes,” stated V-P Dhankhar.
“We are the custodians of all that Mother Earth provides, and it is our duty to ensure we pass it on to future generations in excellent condition,” added the Vice President.
He commended the NGT for its efforts in safeguarding the nation’s environment, noting that for him, NGT signifies ‘Nurturing Green for Tomorrow’.
Advocating for a united global response to climate change, Dhankhar remarked, “There is a worldwide necessity to develop and adhere to environmental ethics. This emphasizes our moral responsibility to safeguard and maintain the environment.”
“Let us appreciate the value of nature before it is lost forever,” he urged, calling for swift actions to protect the environment.
Earlier, President Droupadi Murmu urged for the nurturing and safeguarding of the environment for future generations, stating it is a moral obligation of parents to their children.
In her inaugural address at the Conference, the President remarked, “It is our moral duty to ensure a legacy of a clean environment for those who come after us. To achieve this, we must embrace an environmentally aware and sensitive lifestyle, ensuring that the environment is not only preserved but also enhanced.”
She called for initiatives that would make the environment more vibrant, stating, “Finding a balance between a clean environment and modern development presents both an opportunity and a challenge.”
The President concluded, “We must all strive to transform India into a developed nation by 2047, characterized by clean air, water, greenery, and prosperity that draws the attention of the global community.”
