New Delhi, April 16 (NationPress) Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Sonia Gandhi and a prominent businessman, visited the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in the capital today for his second round of interrogation regarding the Gurugram land deal controversy.
He was joined by his wife, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a Congress Member of Parliament. This marks the second consecutive day that Vadra is facing questions related to the alleged discrepancies in the land deal. Upon entering the ED office, the couple shared a warm hug.
Vadra has expressed confidence, stating that he is 'too strong for this' and that such a witch hunt will not intimidate him.
Earlier today, he subtly criticized the government, claiming it interrupted his week-long seva activities during his birthday.
“My Birthday Week Seva has been paused for a few days. Plans I have made for feeding the elderly and gifts for all the children in different areas will be continued as soon as I get over the 'Government’s ways of stopping Me' from doing good and speaking about their unjust behavior towards minorities, or if there are even wishes and talks of me being in politics,” Vadra posted on Facebook.
“Nothing will deter me from fulfilling people’s wishes and needs. I’m here for any kind of unjust pressure. I believe in the truth, and the truth will prevail,” he added.
Vadra underwent extensive questioning by the ED officials for several hours yesterday.
“I have nothing to hide. I have answered before and will do so again,” he said as he exited the ED office.
He labeled the ED's summons as 'politically motivated' and asserted that governmental agencies are being misused to exert pressure on him, insisting that he has nothing to conceal. In 2019, he submitted thousands of pages of documents to the agency.
In the meantime, Congress supporters are protesting outside the party office, including at 24 Akbar Road, against what they term a ‘witch hunt’ orchestrated by the central government. The party is also coordinating nationwide demonstrations outside ED offices in various states.
