New Delhi, April 23 (NationPress) Businessman and Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra found himself in the crosshairs of the BJP on Wednesday, after he drew connections between the Pahalgam terror attacks and the 'increasing divide' between Hindus and Muslims in the nation, attributing the blame to the central government.

A duo of BJP spokespersons, addressing IANS, launched a scathing attack on the esteemed member of the Gandhi family, demanding an apology for his unacceptable remarks.

“Robert Vadra’s comments are both condemnable and shameful from the outset. What kind of language is he using... it resembles that of terrorists. He needs to apologize,” Nalin Kohli stated.

“The country is in a state of shock and outrage over the murder of innocent individuals in Pahalgam. They were targeted based on their religion and subsequently shot dead in front of their families. Prime Minister Narendra Modi shortened his visit to Saudi Arabia, while Home Minister Amit Shah hurried to the Kashmir Valley to assess the situation,” he emphasized, underscoring the government's prompt response to the crisis.

Criticizing the Congress party and the Gandhis, Kohli remarked: “On one hand, the Congress claims to support the government in the fight against terrorism, yet on the other, a prominent member of the Gandhi family makes such disgraceful comments. Will this lead to justice for the victims?”

“The Congress must clarify its position on this matter. The Gandhi family owes answers regarding Vadra’s irresponsible remarks. Robert Vadra should apologize to the nation for such reckless statements,” he insisted.

Shahzad Poonawala also condemned Robert Vadra for absolving Pakistan of blame shortly after the violent attack, even before the victims' remains could reach their mourning families.

He told IANS: “Robert Vadra, a prominent figure in the Congress, allegedly under the influence of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, has exonerated Pakistan while attributing the blame solely to Hindus and Hindutva for the massacre in Pahalgam,”

The BJP spokesperson further stated: "The Congress has repeatedly sided with Pakistani Islamic jihadists — whether during the 26/11 attacks, where blame was quickly placed on Hindus, or in incidents such as Pulwama, the Samjhauta Express blast, and now the Pahalgam attack.”

He noted that it is evident that tourists were first segregated based on their religious identity before being brutally killed, yet Vadra continues to absolve the terror-supporting nation and justify the attacks.

Robert Vadra ignited significant controversy earlier in the day with his remarks: "In our country, we observe that this government promotes Hindutva, causing minorities to feel uneasy and distressed... if you analyze this terrorist act, if they (the terrorists) are identifying individuals, why are they committing these acts? Because there is a division that has emerged in our country between Hindus and Muslims," Vadra expressed.
