Rajkot, Jan 5 (NationPress) Gujarat's Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi announced on Monday that the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) is set to facilitate significant investments in both the Saurashtra and Kutch regions.
While addressing the media at the Rajkot District Collector's office, he emphasized the state's commitment to addressing the challenges faced by both small and large industrialists, prioritizing their concerns to accelerate industrial growth.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, a coordination meeting took place in Rajkot, attended by local industrialists from the Saurashtra-Kutch area, as well as representatives from all relevant departments.
The primary aim of this initiative is to provide immediate resolutions to the grievances and operational issues faced by entrepreneurs, enabling them to scale their operations and draw new investments.
Deputy Chief Minister Sanghavi highlighted that Rajkot is regarded as Gujarat's “growth engine” within the manufacturing sector, possessing tremendous potential to attract investments from both national and international sources.
He pointed out that after the successful conclusion of the inaugural VGRC in Mehsana, Rajkot has been chosen for the next regional conference, aimed at fortifying the industrial momentum in this area.
On January 11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially launch the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference at Marwadi University in Rajkot.
According to Deputy CM Sanghavi, this conference is anticipated to serve as a catalyst for substantial investments in Saurashtra and Kutch in the near future.
He remarked that while Rajkot has seen rapid advancements in various sectors, particularly manufacturing, the state government is eager to further accelerate development and ease operational processes for traders, manufacturers, and industrialists.
“This is the reason we organized today's discussion with industry stakeholders,” he stated.
Emphasizing the state’s incentive framework, Deputy Chief Minister Sanghavi mentioned that the Gujarat government has distributed incentive assistance totaling Rs 956.51 crore to 10,435 industrialists in Rajkot through various industrial policies.
Additionally, approval letters worth Rs 661.73 crore are set to be issued to 137 industrialists from the Saurashtra-Kutch region under schemes such as Textile Incentives, Environmental Industrial Infrastructure Facilities, and small-scale industry initiatives.
He claimed that Gujarat leads the nation in the swift disbursement of industrial incentives, with the Industries Department tirelessly working to expedite the process further.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Gujarat has established itself as the premier state for investment attraction.
“In the future, under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the Gujarat government, alongside its citizens, will persist in bringing maximum investment to the state and progress along the developmental path,” asserted Deputy CM Sanghavi.
In the meantime, In-charge Minister Jitu Vaghani expressed his support for the state government’s initiative to hold direct meetings with industrialists.
He noted that entrepreneurs and traders are crucial to bolstering the state's economy, and addressing their concerns at the local level while promptly dealing with policy-related issues at the state level is a commendable move.
The press conference saw attendance from various officials, including Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Jayanti Ravi, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries and Mines) Mamta Verma, and several legislators and local authorities.
