Bhopal/Vijayraghavgarh, March 14 (NationPress) A substantial wave of development has swept through Vijayraghavgarh as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav officially launched and laid foundations for projects amounting to over Rs 1,000 crore on Saturday.
The ceremony took place in Barhi town, attracting thousands of farmers, local officials, and dignitaries, highlighting the extensive investment aimed at enhancing the region's infrastructure and agricultural capacity.
During the event, the Chief Minister virtually inaugurated projects totaling Rs 243 crore, which include new school and college facilities, science labs, road development, and community amenities.
These initiatives, distributed across Vijayraghavgarh and its neighboring regions, are expected to greatly enhance educational access and connectivity.
Moreover, 62 projects valued at Rs 180 crore were also inaugurated, covering a range of infrastructure such as bridges, hospitals, water supply systems, and power substations, signifying a comprehensive effort toward rural progress.
The highlight of the announcements was a Rs 661 crore lift irrigation initiative aimed at irrigating nearly 23,000 hectares of agricultural land.
This project, along with other canal initiatives, is anticipated to provide irrigation to over one lakh acres within the constituency, a significant boost for local farming.
Another key project unveiled was the Koteshwar bridge, for which the government has allocated Rs 95 crore to reconstruct this vital connection for villages surrounding the Narmada basin after prolonged delays.
Local MLA Sanjay Satyendra Pathak commended the Chief Minister's vision, asserting that the collective package of irrigation, infrastructure, and educational initiatives will profoundly benefit the region.
The gathering also echoed demands for additional projects, such as a new agricultural college and a produce market in Vijayraghavgarh, underscoring the area's pivotal role in Katni district's agricultural economy.
With approximately 60 percent of the district's cultivable land located within the constituency, such institutions would bolster support for farmers significantly.
The event featured the “Krishak Mahotsav,” drawing numerous farmers who came together to greet the Chief Minister.
Pathak characterized the announcements as a watershed moment for the region, asserting that future generations will look back on this day as the dawn of a new chapter in development.
With this extensive package, Vijayraghavgarh is poised for remarkable advancements in infrastructure and agriculture, paving the way for broader rural development across Madhya Pradesh.
