In various pictures and videos, attendees of the Iftar were seen capturing moments with Vijay as he arrived at the venue. Fans flooded X and Instagram with a plethora of pictures and videos.
Vijay officially inaugurated TVK on February 2, 2024, following years of speculation surrounding his political ambitions.
He subsequently revealed the party's flag and symbol at its headquarters in Chennai on August 22, 2024. Since its establishment, TVK has garnered attention for Vijay's political remarks, which have ignited discussions among his supporters and political analysts due to perceived inconsistencies on certain matters.
During the launch of the party, Vijay positioned TVK in opposition to corruption and divisiveness and announced its intent to participate in the 2026 Assembly elections.
However, he chose not to endorse any party for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Vijay's political credibility has been on the rise since his fan club, the All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (AITVMI), secured 115 out of the 169 seats it contested in the 2021 Tamil Nadu local body elections. This achievement has distinguished TVK from other emerging political entities, such as Kamal Haasan's Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) and Seeman's Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), which failed to gain any seats.
