Motihari, June 19 (NationPress) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to visit Bihar's Motihari to unveil and lay the groundwork for numerous development initiatives totaling Rs 9,519 crore, local MP and prominent BJP figure Radha Mohan Singh described the occasion as 'extremely important' and a moment of pride for the residents of the area.
This visit will significantly enhance the infrastructure and urban development of Motihari and its neighboring regions.
The Motihari MP stated that the Prime Minister’s visit is a 'very important' occasion and a moment of pride for the community.
In an interview with IANS, Singh expressed, 'We, the citizens of Motihari, are quite fortunate. The Vande Bharat Express is a wonderful gift for us. PM Modi will virtually launch the train from Siwan. This train will operate between Pataliputra and Gorakhpur via Motihari.'
Besides launching the Vande Bharat, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for two significant projects directly associated with Motihari. Under the Atal Renovation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 Mission, Rs 400 crore has been earmarked for a 187-km sewage network. Another pivotal initiative consists of beautification and construction work at Motijheel, estimated at Rs 150 crore. These projects are expected to greatly enhance urban infrastructure in the city.
During his upcoming visit to Siwan on June 20, PM Modi will also initiate and launch several additional projects, including those under the Urban Development and Housing Department (UDHD) and the Ram Janaki Path. This marks the Prime Minister’s fourth trip to Bihar in 2024, coinciding with the state’s preparation for the forthcoming Assembly elections scheduled for October–November.
In a notable outreach effort to the rural electorate, PM Modi will distribute the first tranche of the PM Awas Yojana to 51,000 beneficiaries, bolstering the Centre’s housing-for-all initiative. He is also anticipated to address a public gathering in Siwan, engaging voters from Siwan, Saran, and Gopalganj districts.
The BJP is gearing up to contest the upcoming Assembly elections as part of the NDA in the state, which also includes Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal-United, Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas, and former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM.
