Davos, Jan 21 (NationPress) The 55th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting commenced with the theme "Collaboration for the Intelligent Age", in the picturesque Swiss Alps on Tuesday. Three renowned personalities -- football superstar David Beckham, iconic fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, and acclaimed architect Riken Yamamoto -- received the esteemed Crystal Awards for their significant contributions towards social, environmental, and creative advancements.

The honorees were recognized for their dedication to community regeneration, gender equality, children's rights, and various other impactful initiatives.

WEF President and CEO Borge Brende emphasized the importance of this gathering, addressing the global challenges and opportunities arising from geopolitical, geoeconomic, and technological changes.

Brende mentioned in his opening remarks that the assembly of 3,000 leaders from across the globe, representing both public and private sectors, aims to foster the collaboration essential for this pivotal moment.
