Bhopal, March 31 (NationPress) The two-day conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (India Region, Zone-6) for young lawmakers from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan wrapped up on Tuesday at the Madhya Pradesh Assembly. Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh declared that India is emerging as the world's fastest-growing economy, charting a new course in history by effectively tackling challenges.

He expressed his belief that if the nation maintains a positive and forward-thinking attitude, the 21st century will be marked by India's success.

Singh recalled the powerful words of Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing that youth have the potential to reshape a nation's history, direction, and future.

He highlighted that the vision of a 'Developed India @ 2047' as outlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi can only come to fruition through the enthusiasm and engagement of young leaders.

"India is making rapid strides in various sectors. If we continue this momentum, we might attain developed nation status even before 2047," he stated, encouraging lawmakers to approach their duties with commitment and hope.

Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar underscored the importance of young legislators embodying dedication, discipline, and a constructive approach to address modern challenges.

Tomar facilitated a pledge for the participants, framing 'Developed India @ 2047' as a shared commitment among 1.4 billion Indians rather than just a governmental initiative.

He emphasized the necessity of citizen involvement to fortify democracy and called for transforming development into a collective movement.

Tomar urged the youth to prioritize good governance, innovative solutions, and lifelong learning, reminding them to maintain the humble spirit of a learner.

Rahul Karad from the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association suggested that similar conferences should be held in every State Assembly.

He noted that MLAs serve as ambassadors for their constituencies and stressed the critical role of legislators in changing societal perceptions.

Karad also pointed out the significance of Artificial Intelligence (AI), training, and education in contemporary governance.

During the two-day gathering, around 40 young legislators deliberated on essential topics such as citizen engagement in democracy, technology, sanitation, solar energy, quality education, infrastructure, public dialogue, and social welfare.

A legislative journal titled 'Vidhayini', documenting seven decades of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, was unveiled during the event.

The young legislators took a five-point oath, stating: "We pledge to serve as a vital link between citizens and the government by understanding public concerns, presenting them in the Assembly, and crafting transparent, accountable, and citizen-friendly policies. We commit to empowering citizens through education, technology, and innovation, with a particular focus on crucial sectors like education, health, employment, and the environment, while ensuring that youth, women, and marginalized groups are integrated into the development process. Despite challenges such as political pressures, resource limitations, and social inequalities, we vow to work with the utmost integrity, commitment, and foresight. We further pledge to enhance our research and analytical capabilities, actively engage in legislative processes, and provide dynamic leadership to steer the nation towards 'Viksit Bharat 2047.'"

The conference was attended by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Prahlad Singh Patel, former Ministers and speakers, alongside dignitaries from the three states.

The event concluded with the National Anthem and a vote of thanks delivered by Madhya Pradesh Assembly Secretary Arvind Sharma.
