Cupertino (California), March 4 (NationPress) - On Tuesday, Apple unveiled the enhanced and more robust iPad Air powered by the M3 chip, designed specifically for Apple Intelligence.

The tech giant claims that the iPad Air equipped with the M3 introduces Apple’s cutting-edge graphics architecture to the iPad Air lineup for the first time, elevating its exceptional blend of power-efficient performance and portability.

“With iPadOS 18, integration of Apple Intelligence, advanced camera systems, rapid 5G connectivity, and compatibility with Apple Pencil Pro and the Apple Pencil (USB-C), the latest iPad Air delivers an unparalleled experience,” stated the company.

According to Bob Borchers, Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing, “The iPad Air enjoys immense popularity due to its unmatched combination of powerful performance, portability, and compatibility with advanced accessories, all at a reasonable price.”

“Whether you are a college student taking notes with the Apple Pencil Pro, a traveler, or a content creator needing robust productivity on the move, the iPad Air with M3, Apple Intelligence, and the new Magic Keyboard elevate versatility and value to new heights,” he added.

The M3 chip features a more powerful 8-core CPU, delivering up to 35 percent faster performance for multithreaded CPU tasks compared to the iPad Air with M1.

With a 9-core GPU, the M3 offers up to 40 percent improved graphics performance over the M1.

Furthermore, the M3 introduces Apple’s advanced graphics architecture to the iPad Air for the first time, supporting dynamic caching, hardware-accelerated mesh shading, and ray tracing. For graphics-intensive rendering tasks, the iPad Air with M3 delivers up to 4x faster performance compared to the M1, enabling more precise lighting, reflections, shadows, and an incredibly realistic gaming experience.

The enhanced Neural Engine in M3 allows iPad Air users to access even greater AI capabilities within iPadOS. When compared to the M1, the M3 Neural Engine is up to 60 percent quicker for AI-centric workloads.

Additional enhancements over iPad models with A-series chips include support for Apple Intelligence, the availability of 11- and 13-inch sizes, and compatibility with advanced accessories like the new Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro, as stated by the tech leader.

Customers can pre-order the new iPad Air with M3 across 29 countries and regions, including the US. It is set to begin shipping to customers and will be available in Apple Store locations from March 12.

The 11-inch and 13-inch versions of the iPad Air with M3 will come in colors including blue, purple, starlight, and space gray, with storage options of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
