New Delhi, Dec 5 (NationPress) Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has reported a remarkable increase in domestic sales, achieving 5,33,645 units in November, representing a 23 percent rise from 4,32,888 units during the same month last year.
Total sales for November reached 5,91,136 units, marking a 25 percent growth from 4,72,749 units a year earlier, while exports surged by 44 percent to 57,491 units from 39,861 units in the previous year, as stated by the company.
The data indicates a continued strong demand in international markets alongside robust domestic retail performance.
For the fiscal period from April to November 2025, HMSI reported total sales of 42,32,748 units, which includes 38,12,096 domestic units and 4,20,652 exported units.
The company attributes this positive trend to enhanced market sentiment, an expanded retail network, and recovering demand in both urban and rural areas.
HMSI has also emphasized its commitment to road safety through various awareness initiatives, including campaigns across numerous cities, celebrating Children’s Month with activities at manufacturing sites, Traffic Training Parks, and Safety Driving Education Centres.
Additionally, it organized road safety conventions in Coimbatore and Varanasi. The Honda India Foundation has established a Kaushal Vikas Kendra for individuals with disabilities in Bengaluru and introduced a career advancement program for General Duty Assistants trained under Project Pragati.
The implementation of GST 2.0 has significantly boosted India’s two-wheeler market, with vehicle registrations in October reaching 1.85 million units — the highest monthly output for the year. HMSI saw a moderate 3 percent increase to 5,05,000 units during that month.
The Japanese automotive leader has outlined plans for increased global demand for motorcycles, particularly in the Global South, with major markets including India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and countries in Central and South America.
Moreover, the company has revealed intentions to establish an electric motorcycle manufacturing facility in India by 2028.
