New Delhi, May 10 (NationPress) In a decisive reaction to the support extended by Turkey and Azerbaijan towards Pakistan amidst the ongoing conflict, prominent travel agencies have ceased all travel packages to these nations. This action follows the public backing from both countries for Pakistan during the current tensions with India, particularly after 'Operation Sindoor' aimed at dismantling terror networks in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Travel firms like EaseMyTrip, Cox & Kings, and Travomint have declared a complete suspension of bookings for Turkey and Azerbaijan, reflecting the national sentiment and heightened concerns regarding safety and diplomatic relations.
This decision signifies a larger trend within the industry, where companies are becoming increasingly aware of their global partnerships and their implications on national interests.
Karan Agarwal, Director of Cox & Kings, remarked, “In light of recent developments, we have chosen to halt all new travel options to Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey. This choice stems from our dedication to uphold values that significantly resonate with us and our fellow citizens.”
He has also urged Indian travelers to steer clear of these destinations until clarity is achieved.
Nishant Pitti, founder and chairman of EaseMyTrip, highlighted the paramount importance of traveler safety during these precarious times. “We are profoundly concerned about the recent events. At EaseMyTrip, the safety of our travelers is our foremost priority. We encourage all customers to exercise extreme caution and remain updated on official travel advisories before planning trips to sensitive areas,” he stated.
Travomint swiftly followed suit, with CEO Alok K Singh confirming the firm's position, stating, “Given the rising tensions with Pakistan and the support from Turkey and Azerbaijan, we at Travomint have taken a responsible stand.”
“We have resolved to support the Indian call for a boycott of Turkey and Azerbaijan,” Singh added.
This wave of action arose after Turkey and Azerbaijan exhibited solidarity with Pakistan following India’s retaliatory measures against terror sites.
The Azerbaijani government issued a statement denouncing India’s military operations, expressing concerns over civilian casualties and advocating for a diplomatic resolution.
In a similar vein, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned India's airstrike as a “provocative” act, warning of the potential for a full-scale conflict. India has discovered that Pakistani forces are utilizing Turkish-manufactured Asisguard Songar drones.
