How Did PM Modi Praise the Dantewada Science Centre's Role in Progress?

Raipur, April 27 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his 121st episode of ‘Mann ki Baat’, which aired following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, highlighted the transformative potential of India's youth.

Using the Dantewada Science Centre as a prime example, PM Modi illustrated how progress can flourish even under the most challenging circumstances.

He referred to Dantewada in Chhattisgarh as a beacon of advancement.

Once known for turmoil, the region now proudly features a Science Centre that serves as a “ray of hope” for both children and their parents.

“This centre promotes curiosity and innovation; it offers avenues to delve into robotics, 3D printing, and engineering breakthroughs,” PM Modi remarked, adding, “These galleries showcase the potential of modern science, demonstrating what science can achieve for us. I have heard that the children there are thrilled with these galleries. This growing interest in science and innovation will undoubtedly elevate India to new heights.”

PM Modi also mentioned similar initiatives, like the Science Galleries at Gujarat Science City, which reveal the vast possibilities of modern science, inspiring children to aspire for greatness and drive India's future development.

In addition, he commemorated Dr K. Kasturirangan, a stalwart in space science and education, whose leadership significantly enhanced ISRO’s global reputation and contributed to the National Education Policy.

“Kasturirangan envisioned a forward-looking educational framework tailored to the needs of the 21st century. His selfless dedication to the country and his contributions to nation-building will always be cherished. With great humility, I pay my respects to Dr K Kasturirangan,” PM Modi stated as he honored the legendary Indian scientist, who recently passed away.

April also marks the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Aryabhatta Satellite, a significant milestone in India’s journey towards becoming a global space power, PM Modi pointed out.

He elaborated on the nation's achievements in space exploration, including missions like Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1, which underscore India’s leadership in cost-effective and successful space programs.

“These advancements reflect the commitment and vision that continue to drive the country forward,” the Prime Minister stated.

“Friends, now India has opened her Space Sector to the private sector as well. Today, numerous youth are achieving new milestones in Space Startups. A decade ago, there was just one company; now, over 325 Space Startups are operational in the country. The coming years promise numerous new opportunities in space. India is poised to reach new heights. The country is gearing up for many significant missions, including Gaganyaan, SpaDeX, and Chandrayaan-4. We are also developing the Venus Orbiter Mission and the Mars Lander Mission. Our Space Scientists are set to instill new pride in the nation through their innovations,” PM Modi declared.

The Prime Minister also discussed the ongoing initiative ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,’ which honors both biological mothers and Mother Earth. In its first year, this campaign has resulted in the planting of over 140 crore trees, with Ahmedabad notably excelling in its greening efforts to combat global warming.

PM Modi encouraged citizens to participate in tree-planting initiatives, stressing the importance of collective action for a sustainable future.

Reflecting on the Pahalgam terror attack at the start of his address, PM Modi conveyed deep sadness and solidarity with the affected families. He denounced the act as a desperate attempt to disrupt Kashmir’s progress and unity. The Prime Minister assured justice for the victims and emphasized the nation's resolve, bolstered by global support, to fight terrorism.
