New Delhi, Dec 11 (NationPress) Tickets for the Group Stage and Super Eight of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka will become available at 6:45 PM on Thursday evening. This major event, marking its tenth edition, is scheduled from February 7 to March 8, with matches taking place across eight venues in both nations.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed that the initial pricing for tickets will commence at Rs 100 at select venues in India, and 1000 LKR in Sri Lanka. This affordable pricing model was first introduced during the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, also co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

“The commencement of Phase I ticket sales is a significant step in our mission to create the most accessible and globally recognized ICC event ever. Our vision for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is straightforward: every cricket fan, regardless of their background or financial situation, should have an opportunity to enjoy an in-stadium experience of premier cricket,” stated an ICC representative.

“By offering tickets starting at just ₹100 and LKR1000, we are emphasizing affordability. Our goal is to widely open the gates and invite millions to engage in this global cricket celebration, not merely as distant spectators, but as active participants in the thrilling atmosphere that only a stadium can provide.”

“The 2026 edition, featuring 20 teams and 55 matches, aims to be the most ambitious and inclusive T20 World Cup ever. We believe it will establish a new standard for competitive excellence and fan engagement. Our commitment is to bring the world closer to cricket and ensure this tournament is remembered for its cricketing prowess and its connection with the fans,” remarked ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta.

The tournament will kick off in Colombo with Pakistan taking on the Netherlands, followed by West Indies facing Bangladesh in Kolkata, before India battles the USA in a high-stakes match in Mumbai. India, as the defending champions, will strive to retain the trophy they won in 2024.

“With ticket prices starting as low as ₹100, the anticipation surrounding the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is greatly amplified. We are dedicated to providing a world-class match-day atmosphere that mirrors India’s love for cricket, enhanced facilities, seamless logistics, and stadiums filled with excitement,” added BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia.

The venues in India include Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, and Eden Gardens in Kolkata. In Sri Lanka, matches will be held at R. Premadasa Stadium and Singhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo, along with the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
