New Delhi, Nov 17 (NationPress) India has unveiled its squad for the highly anticipated 2025 Squash World Cup, scheduled to take place in Chennai from December 9 to 14. Hosted by the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI), this year's tournament follows the success of the 2023 event where mixed-gender teams—comprising two males and two females—competed fiercely for the championship in Tamil Nadu.

During the last edition, Egypt triumphed in a thrilling comeback against Malaysia before a packed audience at the Express Avenue Mall, while India secured a commendable third place.

After finishing with a bronze at the 2023 Squash World Cup, India is optimistic about capturing gold on home soil this time, with a blend of returning stars and promising new talents.

This year, fans will witness the return of India’s Men’s No.1 Abhay Singh, who dreams of clinching the Squash World Cup title in front of an enthusiastic local crowd.

Joining him is Velavan Senthilkumar, making his debut at the SDAT Squash World Cup in December. The 27-year-old has achieved notable success alongside Abhay Singh, winning the 2024 and 2025 Asian Doubles Squash Championships and the 2022 Men’s Asian Squash Team Championships, and he aims to add another medal to his accolades.

Also returning to the Squash World Cup is local favorite and former World No.10 Joshna Chinappa. Representing India for the second time in this mixed-gender competition, the 39-year-old aims to play a key role in securing a gold medal.

In her debut at the Squash World Cup, India’s Women’s No.1 Anahat Singh will also be aiming for victory. At just 17, she is the youngest participant and hopes to shine in front of a full house this December.
