Noida (UP), Nov 17 (NationPress) The Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) has fortified its standing by announcing a partnership with one of India's most renowned Kabaddi stars, Rahul Chaudhari, who will continue as the Brand Ambassador for Season 2.
Commonly referred to as the ‘Showman of Kabaddi’ in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), Rahul has played a pivotal role in raising the profile of Kabaddi, motivating many young athletes to embrace the sport. With Rahul's ongoing association, UPKL solidifies its reputation as one of India's most organized and rapidly growing state-level leagues, consistently setting new standards through a robust professional structure, a focus on athletes, and a deep connection with the community.
Rahul commenced his journey in Kabaddi as a defender but evolved into one of India's top raiders. He was a key member of the Indian National Kabaddi Team that earned a Gold Medal at the 2016 South Asian Games and contributed to the team that claimed a gold medal at the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup. Additionally, he captained the Indian Kabaddi team during the Beach Asian Games 2014 in Thailand and also led the UP team in the National Kabaddi Championship 2015.
Discussing the enhanced partnership with Rahul, Sambhav Jain, Founder and Director of SJ Uplift Kabaddi, stated, “UPKL’s evolution from Season 1 to 2 demonstrates how regional leagues can grow into influential ecosystems, connect communities, and transform local enthusiasm into mainstream recognition. Rahul brought significant brand visibility in Season 1, and with his involvement in the upcoming season, we aim to further harness his following to make UPKL a recognized name throughout India. Our continued collaboration with Rahul positions us well to boost the league's visibility, inject new energy, and enhance the star appeal of our expanding fan base.”
Rahul Chaudhari remarked, “I was excited to witness the passion and commitment during UPKL’s inaugural season. The league has paved a way for grassroots talent to shine on a national stage. It has become a vital launchpad, enabling players and non-players alike to consider Kabaddi from a career perspective. My partnership with UPKL is rooted in a shared vision for the sport. I believe young athletes will again receive the platform and opportunities they deserve.”
To further increase its visibility, UPKL will be broadcast live on Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited's new initiative, Zee Sports. This will promote national engagement with the league via television and OTT platforms.
