New Delhi, Sep 7 (NationPress) The landscape of Indian football is gradually stabilizing as the All India Football Federation's executive committee has officially announced that the Super Cup is set to commence on October 25. This decision comes alongside the approval of the Federation's Request for Quotation (RFQ) to choose an agency responsible for managing the tender process for the Indian Super League.
Following a Supreme Court directive issued on September 2, the AIFF is taking essential steps to ensure that the Indian football calendar launches on schedule. This will necessitate the governing body to secure a new commercial partner, especially after unsuccessful negotiations for a new Masters Right Agreement with the AIFF.
The tender process will be supervised by a panel including former Supreme Court judge L. Nageswara Rao, Kesavaran Murugasu, a member of the Audit & Compliance Committee of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), along with AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey.
The Executive Committee of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) convened virtually on Saturday, September 6, 2025, to endorse the RFQ process aimed at selecting an agency to manage and monetize the AIFF’s commercial properties for a limited duration.
To facilitate the selection procedure, a three-member Bid Evaluation Committee (BEC) has been established, chaired by Justice L. Nageswara Rao, along with Murugasu and Chaubey as members,” stated the AIFF.
The AIFF has also confirmed the Super Cup dates, allowing clubs to initiate pre-season training while the governing body finalizes the tender process, paving the way for the league's launch following the domestic tournament.
Moreover, the AIFF's MRA Task Force Committee, formed during the Executive Committee meeting on April 7, 2025, will persist as the Tender Committee to assess the recommendations made by the professional services firm.
The Committee has decided that the Super Cup will take place from October 25, 2025, to November 22, 2025, in a phased manner,” the AIFF statement further elaborated.
