Amad Excluded from Starting Lineup for Manchester United in FA Cup Match Against Arsenal

London, Jan 12 (NationPress) Manchester United forward Amad Diallo has been excluded from the starting eleven in the third round of the FA Cup against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this Sunday due to a minor issue.
Ruben Amorim has implemented two modifications to the lineup that displayed remarkable performance in the previous Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool. Altay Bayindir replaces Andre Onana in goal, while Alejandro Garnacho is given a chance to start in front of Amad.
"Amad (Diallo) faced a minor issue during the week, and I appreciate Garnacho's current form - he is performing well. Given his training, we thought it was a great opportunity to let Garnacho start the match," Amorim stated to BBC ahead of the fixture.
Amad recently signed a new contract, extending his tenure with Manchester United until 2030. The 22-year-old Ivorian international has made 50 appearances and netted nine goals since his arrival at the club in 2021. This season alone, he has tallied six goals and provided seven assists.
In their last encounter, held in December at the same venue, the two teams clashed in the Premier League, where Amorim’s squad was bested by Arsenal's relentless set-piece strategy. The Gunners secured a 2-0 victory, scoring both goals from corner kicks.
Amorim emphasized that they will concentrate on set-pieces in this match. "We are committed to being competitive in the finer details and set-pieces. It's challenging to overcome this team in that aspect. We need to demonstrate greater aggression in the final third. We have a rich history in this competition, and our goal is to win."
