French midfielder Aladji Bamba has joined Newcastle United from Monaco on a five-year deal, the Premier League club confirmed on 24 July. The 20-year-old, a current European Golden Boy nominee and France Under-20 international, will wear the number eight shirt at St. James' Park.

Bamba has represented France at youth level for three years, progressing through the age groups. He was part of the France Under-20 squad that won the Maurice Revello Tournament last summer, underlining his credentials as one of French football's most promising midfield prospects.
