Dubai, Jan 24 (NationPress) Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, fast bowling leader Jasprit Bumrah, and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja have been included in the ICC Men’s Test Team of the Year 2024.
In addition to the Indian trio, the squad comprises four players from England, two from New Zealand, and one each from Australia and Sri Lanka.
Australia’s Pat Cummins leads the ICC Men’s Test Team of the Year for the second consecutive year, earning his position through a remarkable performance that saw him guide his team to the ICC World Test Championship Final, achieving victories over Pakistan, New Zealand, and India, while taking 37 wickets in nine Tests at an average of 24.02.
India’s Jaiswal secures a place at the top of the batting order after amassing 1,478 runs throughout the year at an average of 54.74, which featured double-centuries in successive Tests against England in February and an impressive 161 against Australia in Perth. His opening partner is Ben Duckett, one of the four English players in the team, who scored over a thousand Test runs in the year (1,149).
