Burnley, July 2 (NationPress) Burnley Football Club is thrilled to announce the signing of France U21 winger Loum Tchaouna from S.S. Lazio.
The 21-year-old forward has committed to a five-year contract at Turf Moor and comes to England boasting 130 appearances across Serie A, Ligue 1, and Ligue 2.
After competing in this summer’s U21 Euros for France, Tchaouna expressed, “It’s a very proud day for me to sign for this special Club.”
“I had a great conversation with the manager during the Euros, which made me realize this is where I want to be.”
“I can’t wait to prepare for the upcoming season and play in front of the fans.”
Born in Chad, Tchaouna relocated to France as a child and developed his skills at the youth academies of FC Kronenbourg, Schiltigheim, and Strasbourg before joining Rennes in 2014.
He rose through Rennes’ academy system, regularly playing for Rennes II, before making his first-team debut at the age of 17 against Bordeaux in September 2021.
With limited first-team opportunities as a teenager, Tchaouna spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Dijon in Ligue 2.
Following a successful loan, he joined Salernitana in Serie A for the 2023/24 season, where he netted six goals and provided four assists in 35 matches.
His outstanding debut season in Italy captured the attention of Lazio, who secured his signature last summer.
Tchaouna scored his first goal for Lazio in October against Como, finishing the season with a total of 37 appearances across all competitions.
As Burnley’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window, he joins new recruits Max Weiß, Quilindschy Hartman, and Axel Tuanzebe from last week.
